Habitat Home Builds

Pronghorn Crossing: Let’s Open the Door to New Opportunities

Pronghorn Crossing, located off Storey Blvd, is our largest and most ambitious development to date. This project will bring 12 new affordable homes to local families. We are building all 12 homes within a single year, a major step in addressing the growing need for affordable homeownership opportunities in our community.

Project Timeline & Milestones

  • 2020 - Land generously donated by Leaning Tree Homes

  • 2022 - Habitat advocates for the creation of the state’s Unmet Housing Needs funding

  • 2023 - $1.8 million in infrastructure funding awarded to the City of Cheyenne for Pronghorn Crossing

  • November 2024 - Groundbreaking!

  • March 2026 - Home construction begins with foundations

  • May 2026 - Members from the Army National Guard’s 307th Engineer Unit will help build 6 units as part of their annual training.

  • June 2026 - Blitz Build: volunteers from across the country help build multiple homes in just 10 days.

  • Fall 2026 - Intending to move all 12 families into their new homes before Thanksgiving!

This development is made possible in part by the Cottage Lot Amendment to Cheyenne’s Unified Development Code, allowing Habitat to build higher-density, multi-unit homes for the first time. This maximized land use while maintaining the quality and character Habitat is known for.

Behind each home is a story of resilience and opportunity. Families partner with Habitat, contributing sweat equity and working alongside volunteers to build not just houses, but brighter futures.

Projects like Pronghorn Crossing are only possible through strong community partnerships, dedicated volunteers, and generous donors. Together, we’re not just building homes… we’re bringing people together to build communities and hop
