Dream of owning a home but discouraged by the current housing market? You might qualify to become a Habitat homeowner! Habitat homeowners pay a mortgage but unlike a traditional mortgage, your loan is set at an affordable rate with 0% interest! You also get to help build your home, how cool is that?
To become a Habitat homeowner, you must meet the following criteria:
Your income must fall between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income according to the Housing and Urban Development guidelines.
You must have the ability to pay an affordable mortgage.
You must be willing to partner with Habitat.
Housing needs are considered as part of the process.
We open our application period up once a year and do not maintain a waitlist. We expect the application period to open annually each fall. Follow us on social media for the most up to date information. We typically do a press release as well when dates are set.

Basic Process:
Once the Application Period is open, you can access the Application on our website as well as in our Restore. Complete the application in full, sign and date any necessary disclosures, provide the requested documentation and turn it into Habitat for Humanity.
Once your application is received, your credit will be pulled, a background check will be conducted and your file will be reviewed and processed. Once completed you will receive communication regarding the next step.
If your file moves forward, a member of our Home Selection Committee will schedule a home visit to interview the family and assess your housing needs.
Once all the visits are complete the committee will select the files to be presented to the Board for Approval.
If your file is approved, you will be notified and presented with a purchase agreement.
