About the Event

Dear Church Leader-

I hope this message finds you well.

Habitat  for Humanity projects have long been a way for people to live in their  faith, and we are tremendously grateful for the volunteers, meals,  donations, and prayers we receive from the faithful of Cheyenne.

You may already know that Habitat for Humanity was founded as a non-proselytizing Christian ministry to demonstrate God’s love.  Its an essential value to our organization, and a key part of our  mission and vision statements.   Volunteers tell us how grateful they  feel to live their faith in the service of building strength for  families through homeownership.  We cherish these comments because we  see people growing in their faith while helping others gain stability in  life so they may do the same.

We want to keep nurturing this rewarding work in Cheyenne.  That’s why we’re excited to tell you about the Building on Faith project.

Building on faith is a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Financial.   The objective is to bring together 100 volunteers from Christian  churches in our community for a day of service on September 7, 2019, to demonstrate what is possible when the faith community comes together to show love and support to neighbors in need.

Our  event will focus on getting homes ready for winter; we’ll clean up  yards, do some minor repair projects, weatherize doors and windows and  install new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.   We want this event to  be a radically inclusive one, with volunteer opportunities for  congregants of all abilities, and we plan to share the good news of this  work far and wide.

We hope you’ll find this opportunity  interesting, and invite you to join us for lunch at noon on Wednesday,  July 17 to learn more. We’ll meet upstairs at the ReStore, 1721 Ames  Ave.

Thank you for the work you do to make Cheyenne such a  special place. We hope you’ll join us in this work.  If you have any  immediate questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

In fellowship,

Kate Wright, Executive Director 307-637-8067
