Habitat for Humanity Of Laramie County Inc.(HFHLCI) is actively engaged in improving housing affordability through enthusiastic participation on the local level. Thanks to the generous support from Habitat for Humanity International's Cost of Home Campaign there will be a Wyoming Affiliate Advocacy Policy Meeting in Casper on September 23, 2022. This meeting will allow affiliates to share best practices for engaging elected officials and community leaders in establishing a State Housing Trust Fund, and discuss inclusive access to credit, equitable access to land, and communities of opportunity policy objectives. The meeting is essential to building a Cost of Home statewide network and developing significant action steps to engage stakeholders in supporting the creation of housing trust funds. Our schedule includes: 1) Discussion topics to impact our affiliate's capacity to influence policy. 2) Opportunity to coordinate Cost Of Home campaign goals. 3) Information on how to mobilize advocates across the state. We will hold the meeting in Casper, WY, due to its central location in the heart of the state. Five of Wyoming's seven affiliates are planning to attend in person. Interest is growing among affiliates to build effective and sustainable housing policy. HFHLCI was excited to move up to the Amplifier level and plans  to move up to Champion level by 2023. This meeting will insure this outcome for our affiliate and facilitate coordinated advocacy efforts with other affiliates, resulting in a FY 23 Cost of Home Campaign plan for Wyoming Affiliates that choose to participate.
